Title: Self-Regulation and Memory Change
Ebbinghaus Empire Series 2015-2016
VIDEO RECORDING OF TALK
Abstract: This talk will offer an overview of Dr. Robin West’s research on memory and aging. Her research emphasizes self-regulatory factors that can affect memory performance, such as goal setting, goal commitment, feedback, beliefs about control and memory self-efficacy. Using evidence from several research paradigms (memory training, goal-setting for list recall, and feedback for name recall), the lecture will demonstrate that self-regulatory beliefs can be a critical factor affecting performance across multiple memory assessments.
